Day 1

Arrive (South Africa)- transfer to Cape town

 

Welcome to South Africa!

Once you are past immigration you shall be met and transfered from the airport to Downtown Capetown

Cape Town

Your rental vehicle, will be delivered to your hotel. We’ll arrange the time of day at booking stage.

You can now explore Cape Town and the surrounding area at your leisure. Of course, you have the Victoria & Alfred waterfront right on your doorstep. Not forgetting the museums and galleries. You have plenty to keep you occupied over the next few days of your trip.

Day 3 - 4

Cape Town

With your hire care explore all that Cape Town and the surrounding areas have to show you.

 

We highly recommend Table Mountain, Robben Island or use your rental vehicle to visit Cape Point, Camps Bay, Lion’s Head, Constantia, Cape Peninsula or take a day trip to visit Hermanus.

Do as little or as much as you want.

Day 5

Franschhoek (Wine region)

After a leisurely breakfast, and a last morning at the waterfront,  drive out of Cape Town to the wine region of Franschhoek.

This town is filled with centuries-old vinyards and our picturesque guest house for the next 2 days is just an hour’s drive from Cape Town, situated in the peaceful Winelands country also known as the Franschhoek Valley.

 

Avondrood’s original Victorian Cape-Dutch home offers guests a beautiful peaceful stay with a rich historical feel of French Huguenot culture combined with all of the modern luxuries and amenities you desire.

Just a short stroll down the road you will find the main village of Franschhoek with world-renowned restaurants, charming gift shops, cafes and magnificent historical buildings and museums to explore.

1st night in Franschhoek :

Day 6

Franschhoek (Wine region)

Perhaps today take in an organised Wine tasting session and/or just drive around to the local vinyards and explore by yourself.

 

If rest is what you need, stay in and enjoy the tranquil gardens at Avondrood. Private and scenic the 2000sq meter gardens surround a large pool, heated jacuzzi and outdoor breakfast veranda which boasts views of the mountains.

Inside the main house you can relish in the spacious lounge next to the grand fireplace or settle into your favourite cocktail at the fully stocked bar and watch the game.

There are eight large suites to choose from, all lavishly decorated with individual themes and character. Wake to a full breakfast with your stay, served with locally roasted coffee. Day 7

Franschhoek to Capetown - onto Kruger (Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve)

Drive to Cape Town airport to return your vehicle and fly to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to Arathusa Game Lodge located in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.

The enchanting Arathusa Safari Lodge lies within the world renowned Sabi Sand Private Reserve, adjacent to the unfenced Kruger National Park. Guests are treated to an exceptional wildlife experience, including the prized "Big Five". With a busy waterhole on its doorstep, one need not leave the comfort of the camp to see buffalo, antelope and elephant families.

The accommodation includes 9 water-facing Suites and 4 bush-facing Suites. Each suite enjoys a lounge area within the extensive open plan unit, as well as an indoor and outdoor shower. Facilities within the camp include a luxury spa, an open plan main living area, an infinity swimming pool, and a traditional open-air dining area.

1st night in Sabi Sands Game Reserve:

Day 8 & 9

Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve

Two game drives each day will give ample structure to your stay.  In between, discuss the days adventures and kick back, relax and enjoy the best that South Africa hospitality has to offer.

 

2nd & 3rd night in Sabi Sands Game Reserve:

Arathusa Safari Lodge, Water-facing suite

Fully inclusive with (2 game drives a day) local brand drinks

Day 10

Last day and transfer back to Kruger Airport to catch you flights home

Departure - We recommend that you arrive at the international airport 3 hours prior to your departure flight (or 2 hours if travelling business class). It is recommended that you check in online for your departure flight so that you can avoid long queues at the airport check in counters. On line check in is available for most airlines 24 hours before your flight. Your hotel will be able to help you with this if necessary. We wish you a pleasant journey back home or to your next destination at the end of your magical South African experience.
