Day 1 & 3

Linyanti Concession

Welcome to Botswana!

 

Upon arrival in Maun you will be met by a Moremi Air representative who will transfer you to your charter flight to Kwando Lagoon Camp. This flight will take approximately 55mins. You then have the next 3 nights enjoying the nature and adventure of this wonderful lodge.

​

Lagoon Camp lies on the shady banks of the Kwando River. It can accommodate up to 18 guests in 8 luxury tents, one of which is a family unit. Lagoon is renowned for wild dog sightings and also the massive herds of elephant and buffalo which roam the area in the winter months. Each room has a deck with comfortable loungers, offering spectacular views over the lagoon. The thatched main area was designed to fit perfectly into the natural landscape and allow views of the river and wetlands from all areas. Just past the bar/lounge area is the plunge pool and it is a short meander to the deck where a comfortable swing chair awaits Activities offered here are game drives, day and night, guided walks and boat cruises.

Game drives are undertaken in custom designed Toyota game viewing vehicles seating no more than six guests at a time in 3 rows of 3 seats. Guests are guided by a two person team of professional guide and tracker - a special feature of the Kwando Safaris wildlife experience. The two person team enables the guide to communicate points of interest and the complex interrelations that exist throughout the natural world, while the tracker ensures no sightings or tracks are missed.

 

The evening/ night drives are a Kwando Safaris speciality. The drive starts in the late afternoon as the sun’s rays are dipping to the west and the day’s heat is declining. After a leisurely pause for the traditional sundowner, and as the African day is transformed into a soft colourful evening canvas, the night drive begins. The mystery unfolds as the creatures of the night, especially the predators, are revealed by spotlight, often unexpectedly.

Day 4 to 7

Okavango Delta (Kwara Concession)

Today we rejoin Moremi Air for your charter flight to Kwando little Kwara Camp in the Okavango Delta. This flight is approximately 30mins.

​

This exclusive camp is located within the game rich Kwara concession, which borders the Moremi Game Reserve on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta. Little Kwara is a small, intimate camp accommodating no more than 10 guests. Being a small camp, it lends itself perfectly to honeymooners or to small groups who can take over the whole camp.There are just five luxury tents nestled under the shade of tall trees on raised platforms, each has a wonderful view over the floodplain. The tents are well spaced ensuring privacy and are accessed via a raised walkway which joins them to the main camp. Each room has a private, shaded veranda and a spacious bedroom with lounge area. The en-suite facilities consist of a freestanding claw-foot bath, twin basins, flush toilet and a partially covered outdoor shower. As with all Kwando camps, there is a plunge pool in the main area, along with the bar, lounge and dining room, all under open-sided canvas.

 

Activities include day and night drives, game walks, power boating, mokoro trips and fishing. The Game drives are run in the same way as your previous camp.

Day 8

Last day and transfer back to Maun Airport to catch you flights home

Transfer to the local airstrip for your charter flight to Maun Airport.

 

Departure - We recommend that you arrive at the international airport 3 hours prior to your departure flight (or 2 hours if travelling business class). It is recommended that you check in online for your departure flight so that you can avoid long queues at the airport check in counters. On line check in is available for most airlines 24 hours before your flight. Your hotel will be able to help you with this if necessary.
